Fractal Audio Axe-Fx 3/FM9 – TASCAM preset
I got tired of searching for Tascam 424 Portastudio style sounds – so I made one!
With studio gigs you have to have a palette of tones available. During the last couple of years DI-guitars have been one of the most wanted tones, at least in my case. TASCAM preset is full of these clean, slightly wobbly tones with a bunch of lo-fi character dialed in.
Note: This preset requires the v12.0 firmware.
The scenes are:
Dry – Slightly saturated clean DI-tone
Mono Synth – Wobbly monophonic synth tone
Gated Reverb – 80’s goodness, instant vibe
Multitap – Delay heaven, delay on delay on…
Faux SC – Aggressive octaver fuzz tone, with volume sidechain on the attack
Shimmer – The most seasick and aggressive shimmer reverb in the 20’s
Detune – Slightly saturated and heavily modulated DI-tone
Drunk Plucks – Think EDM in a night club in Berlin at 05:00
Per Preset overrides are located under Effects tab. You can find some of the most enjoyable lo-fi effects here! Drive channels include tape saturation, heavy fuzz and bit crushed overdrive. Use Kill Dry and Dropouts to get that Grandpa’s Vinyl sound. Add Synth to Shimmer scene and make that guitar sing for days!
